Congratulations to Max for winning the best presentation award at E-MRS
Max Bibrack received the award for the best oral presentation at the European Materials Research Society (E-MRS) conference in Strasbourg. The award, endowed with €260, recognized his presentation entitled “Layer-by-Layer vs. Bulk Heterojunction Processing for R2R-Upscaled Inverted OPV Devices.”
In his presentation, Max compared two different processing approaches for organic photovoltaic devices: the sequential deposition of the active materials using the Layer-by-Layer method and the established Bulk Heterojunction approach. The main focus was on transferring these methods from laboratory-scale fabrication to continuous roll-to-roll production.
Using inverted solar cells based on PM6:Y6-C12₆₁BM, he presented the step-by-step upscaling process toward fully roll-to-roll-processed, semitransparent, and flexible devices. A comparison with blade-coated devices also highlighted the areas in which further development is required for future industrial production.
