Her research primarily focuses on the synthesis and application of environmentally friendly luminescent down-shifting (LDS) materials for photovoltaic devices. The work of Mengqin contributes for developing and use of colloidal Ag-In-S core-shell quantum dots as non-toxic and highly efficient LDS materials to enhance the external quantum efficiency in the ultraviolet region and to reduce surface reflectance in wide spectral region. In addition, a lead-free double perovskite micro-crystalline phosphor with a quantum yield nearly 100% for application in luminescent solar concentrators were developed together with HiErN. Furthermore, this work contributes for development of efficient light management strategies by integrating textured films with phosphors for the encapsulation of high-performance silicon PV devices.  We will miss Mengqin and wish her all the best for her career!
